This session will provide an overview of the life of Jan G. Peters, an Ostfriesen Civil War Veteran who was researched using a variety of records. Sources included copies of original military service and pension records from the National Archives, county and census data, wills, newspaper clippings and other sources.  Jan has been challenging to research and the process to chip away at the brickwalls may be helpful for your research.
