I do not know if my ancestors qualify as Ostfriesen but your site makes
me feel proud of our German heritage. Thanks for being here. I am
interested in Frerichs, Otten, Meuller all of whom were Lutherans and
made the trek to the other side of the world to give me home and family.

have never have the time to truly understand the history of the area. My

visiting there again in a month so wish to do some history gathering
before I go.
A great site! A wonderful gathering place! We're looking for connections

Sophienseil, Friederikenseil, and Sengwarden-- to many of the little
towns in Iroquois, Ford, and Livingston Cos. IL. Their children married
Hinrichs and Claussen, among others.
Went to Ostfriesland in January 2000. Stayed in Aurich. Went to Victorbur
Lutheran church and looked thru records. Pastor Jurgen Hoogstraat

I'm just getting started on my Hulsebus family. I had no info until a
short time ago. My other family names are Budde, Holm, Ruf and Tjaden. I
was born in Hollywood, Calif., and moved to Ark. in 1961. This was my
husband's home. He's gone now and I'm partially disabled. Genealogy keeps me occupied, and I've found many new cousins. These families were
my grandfather's line. His name was Eno H. Holm. Would love to have any info on him and his family that I can get. Researching - Hulsebus, Budde,

Ulferts,& Poppe.
What a great web page! I am contemplating a trip to Ostfriesland and

GERDES, was born in 1868 in Kleinmargens, the son of Martin Henry GERDES

unknown),. I have used the Aurich ortsippenbuch and want more, more,
more!

Does anyonehave information regarding either Wert Gerhard Junkmann
(b:1846, d:?) or Johann Gerhard Arnold Junkmann (b:1843, d:1922)? I
believe they are brothers, both born in the area around Aurich. Johann
remained in Germany, while Wert came to Woodford County,Illinois, USA.
Any other info. on JUNKMANN is
appreciated.
I am looking for my ansestors from Osfriesland in the area of Tickelwarf,
Weener and other area including Bunde. I have traced my lineage to
Tryntje Jans, and Ubbe Everts who were married in Bunde on April 30,
1747. I was told that the Klaver side of my family also came from Bunde,
but I doubt if that is entirely correct simce it appears that Klaver is
actually a surname from the Netherlands. Any information would be
helpful. Apparently many people from the same area of Germany migrated
to Iowa between 1850 and 1900. I was also wondering if anyone knew why
this is true. Thanks for any information you can pass my way!
Great Web site I just sent my check and joined I was wandering if

age 14 in the 1880's. We are also looking for relatives of his brother

My father and I ran into a road block trying to find records for my Great
Grandfather Dietric who was born in the mid to late 1800's in or aroud
Bockhorn Germany. Dietric's father was Willhelm or William Wilken from
the same area. If you can help I am still in Germany and have the
capability to go up there on occasion. Thanks a lot for any help.
What a great surprise to find this site! Just spent 2 hours yesterday
talking to a sharp 94-year-old lady, Meta (DeVries) Miller, about her
childhood in Pewsum and Emden. Saw many books and pictures from
Ostfriesland and fell in love with the birthplace of my ancestors.
Am looking for any info on the family of Folkert GARRELS who came to
America circa 1852. His parents may have been Frerich GERRELTS and Anna
Heyen BROERS. Also anything on LOTTER, SCHLOMANN, or OLTMANN. Thanks,
