 Jever
This is an 18th century castle which is now the Schlossmuseum. Inside we saw hand painted leather wall coverings. Around the castle is a beautiful park with water foul and other birds. |

 Jever
The Jever Castle consisted of castle, museum, and English gardens. A collection of Frisian artifacts, paintings, and graphics were housed throughout this 18th century building. During our wait for Gene Janssens return from the Jever Brewery a few blocks away, I photographed bicyclists. The woman on the bicycle was our tour guide; it was a unique sight as her pony tail flapped in the air. |

 Knock
The entire group (all 125) of the visitors from America and the Ostfriesans who were acting as tour guides went to the Restaurant Strandlust for lunch along the harbor. A delicious buffet lunch was served. It was a beautiful sunny day and we all enjoyed eating outdoors. |

 Leer
We toured the Leer museum, which had rooms of a typical 1800's home. This pillowcase has beautiful saying:
God reigns over great and small
Therefore, slumber (sleep) without worry. |

 Leer
We toured the city of Leer on Friday. Many of the buildings are very old. During WWII, Leer was not bombed. In comparison to Emden, which was 80% destroyed by bombs. This is a picture of a Government building. |

 Leer
This is a picture of a beautiful street in Leer. We had some free time to shop, and I bought artwork in one of these shops and then sat down to have tea and cake at anoutside cafe. It was a very relaxing afternoon. The brown building is the wine building where some of our group went on a tour. Note the beautiful old buildings. There were many tourists walking in the streets. |

 Leer
This is another view of a street in Leer. Notice the styles of cars. I noticed very few large cars in Ostfriesland. There were many very small cars, probably due to the high price of gasoline in Germany. |

Wine museum shop in the old city section of Leer. Translation:
Sweet milk is for children
Sour milk is for swine
Horse and cattle are swigging water
But for us the Lord gave wine |
